How to Gently Care for Your Moroccan Rug By Sweeping

Moroccan Rug Cleaning Tips Sweeping your rug is a gentle and easy way to loosen dust and debris from the surface of the fibers without damaging them, as with vacuuming. In order to keep your rug clean and solve all the problems mentioned earlier, you will need some tips below for a safe effective rug cleaning.

Frequency:

Microfiber Mop: Dry mop once or twice per week to pick up everyday dirt and crumbs.

Get a Little Deeper: Sweep more thoroughly every 1-2 months (depending on how many folks travel through the room).

Tools:

Select a broom with soft, natural bristles like broomcorn or coconut. These will not damage or harm the surface of the rug.

Dustpan: You can use a dust pan provided it has people with smooth teeth to not to hook on fibers.

Technique:

Bang the Rug: Before you clean your area rug, take it outside and shake out some of the dirt that gets embedded deep into the fibers.

Sweep with the Pile: Lightly sweep the rug in the same direction as its pile or weave to avoid pulling and maintain delicate patterns.

Lift and Tilt: For heavier rugs, lift a small corner and sweep under. You can also use a broom in an upright position and sweep the rug parallel to its length.

Minimal Strokes: do not vigorously brush the broom across the carpet; stroking should be light and short steps.

Remember to empty the dustpan often while sweeping so that you are not just pushing dirt back onto your rug.

Additional Tips:

Vacuuming: To get the dirt, go over your rug with a low suction vacuum and a mutant brush that moves softly. Keep the vacuum on its lowest suction setting, and avoid using the beater bar because it can damage the strands.

SPOT CLEANING: In case of spills or stains, blot with a clean, absorbent white cloth. Rubbing will only cause the stain to move around. You can find a pro cleaning tip for severe blemishes.

Maintenance Cleaning: Regular sweeping and occasional gentle cleaning to discourage dust collecting in the pile, wearing down colors and wear pattens.

With these simple tips in mind, you can easily clean your Moroccan rug without fear of ruining its delicate beauty. It requires gentle care if you want to maintain its worth and enjoy the uniqueness of this piece for a long time.

What is Lorem Ipsum? Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Why do we use it? It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
