This vintage Moroccan rug was hand woven by women in Morocco. We love the warm and rich colors, the soft wool and the classic berber patterns that will match with any decor. Woven in the 1960s with traditional methods (flat weaving and hand knotting) and high quality wool that gives to this rug a feminine and cozy feel. The colors are still so vivid because they were obtained from natural sources (plants like saffron and henna).You can see on the detail picture a fine gold thread woven in the pattern. Flat woven rugs like this one were made by berber women all over Morocco and each one has its own style and quality. This is why they are unique pieces and they should be seen as pieces of art rather than just home accessories. The designs are eye catching and the geometry patterns are so interesting that this rug is a true piece of folk art.
